Additional Base Inscription. An additional inscription can be included on the base; such as wording for presentations and awards, posting and retirement gifts, to commemorate particular events or as reminders of tours, operations and duties. There are two methods of personalisation: Cast Inscription: The inscription is actually cast into the base in a matching style to the insignia. As well as wording we can also include designs and images, such as emblems and symbols, or flags and maps to represent tours and operations, and our files contain the insignia of many Batteries, Companies and Squadrons as well as numerous military motifs. There are no minimum quantities for the additional cast inscription, a single or several ornaments or a selection of different ornaments can be personalised with the same inscription. The prices of the personalsed ornaments remains the same as for the standard range, however, a one-off charge of £12.00 is made to cover the costs of the artwork, origination and pattern making, regardless of the number of ornaments purchased, and the patterns are retained for use on future purchases therefore no further set-up charges are incurred for the same wording or design. Engraved Inscription Plate: Alternatively we can include an additional Inscription Plate, a simulated silver plate engraved with text, unfortunately no designs or images can be included, text only. An Inscription Plate incurs a charge of £12.00 for each plate. Text Inscription. The maximum area for additional wording is 6 x 4 cm. (2.5" x 1.5"), though it is recommended that the text is limited to four or five lines to remain clear and legible. To submit text for inclusion on the base simply type the wording in the Additional Wording box below. When typing the text use the symbol \ to mark the end of a line. The box may appear small but up to 150 characters can be inserted. In the drop-down box select your prefered inscription style, e.g. Inscription plus Insignia; Inscription Plate plus Insignia; or Full Inscription: When the message is complete and the inscription style has been selected click on Add to Cart. | |
The wording will appear in full at the checkout stage. We will then e-mail you to confirm the details. Design Inscription. The term design is used to denote any image that is not a common style of lettering and numbers. We can include virtually any design in the available area and images can be combined with text. The maximum area for the designs is 6 x 4 cm. (2.5" x 1.5"). When wording or numerals make up part of an overall design, the text should be included with the artwork. Don't worry about submitting high quality finished artwork, all we need is a reasonable drawing or picture, and we can adjust the scale to fit the available base area. And if your design is a known motif or insignia it's highly likely that we already have it in our files Should it be necessary to modify a design to achieve the best results we will contact you for approval prior to production. Designs should be submitted by e-mail attachment to enquiries@ellisreplicas.co.uk or by post. If submitting a design by post please let us know in the Additional Information box and we will inform you when it arrives and confirm the details. Unfortunately we cannot currently include designs or images on the Engraved Inscription Plate, only text. If you have any questions please contact us. Blank Inscription The inscription area can be left blank if preferred for you to add your own engraved plate. There is no additional charge for this, simply state Blank Inscription Base in the Additional Instructions section at the Checkout stage when making your payment.
