According to the NATO definition the role of the artillery is to provide fire support coordinated with the manoeuvre of forces to destroy, neutralize or suppress the enemy. Having fought in every campaign and virtually every battle for over two centuries, and carrying out thier duties not only as artillery but also as infantry, paras and commandos, the regimental motto of ubique, everywhere, is well earned.
