The Ferret armoured car, generally known as a scout car, was designed for reconnaissance. Small and fast enough to be used in urban environments and strong and rugged enough for rough off-road terrain, the Ferret saw service in all theatres of operation and was used in several variants for over thirty years by every British regiment, and is still in use with the armies of several countries.
