Type 21 (Amazon) Class Frigate
The Type 21, or Amazon class frigate was in service from the 1970s to the 1990s, they were the first designs to be powered solely by gas turbines making them extremely fast and manoeuvrable, and proved their worth during many operations, including the Falklands campaign where HMS Ardent and Antelope were lost to Argentine attacks. Depicted on a seascape base with the badge of any ship of the class, the base size is approximately 22cm. x 15cm. (9" x 6"). |
